Horehound flowers from June to September.Origination: White Horehound is a perennial herbaceous plant, found all over Europe and indigenous to Britain.Recommended Uses: White horehound is used for digestion problems including loss of appetite, indigestion, bloating, gas, diarrhea, constipation, and liver and gallbladder complaints. It is also used for lung and breathing problems including cough, whooping cough, asthma, tuberculosis, bronchitis, and swollen breathing passages.Uses: Horehound is used to make hard lozenge candies that are considered by folk medicine to aid digestion, soothe sore throats, and relieve inflammation.It is also used in beverages, such as horehound beer, steeped as tea (similar to the Maghrebi mint tea), and in the rock and rye cocktail.Growing Instructions:Start indoor three weeks prior to final frost in sterile potting soil keeping moist until germination. Surface sow seeds with a light cover of dirt. Seeds Germinate in 7-21 days. Transplant after true leaves shows in well-draining poor dry soil.
