This popular pineapple makes for a wonderful addition to any tropical landscape. Waxy, strap-like leaves are not serated in this variety. Prized for it's low acidity combined with high sugar content, Sugarloaf is the a leading commercial variety worldwide. The fruit has a white white flesh and no woody core weighing up to 6 pounds.
Cultivation
Does best in a well-drained, sandy loam type soil. Warm temperture is essential, but can be a potted houseplant in colder climates. Requires high Nitrogen and Magnesium to increase fruit size. Soil PH: 4.5 to 6.5, Zones 9-11.
These 3-4"+ plants come in 2.5" x 2.5" x 3.5" deep pots.
