WILD WHITE(False)INDIGO. White false indigo is an American native wildflower. In fact, Europeans used to pay Americans to grow its sister, Blue (false) Indigo for the dye they made from the blue flowers. That's why it's called False Indigo. True Indigo was expensive, but Baptisia was inexpensive. False indigo is a member of the legume family and is Nitrogen-Fixing. you’ll notice a resemblance to peas in its foliage and flowers and its fondness for cooler weather. This is a long-living perennial 10 years plus. False Indigo has a long tap root protecting it from prairie fire and drought. 50+ Quality heirloom seeds. Thank You!
