SWITCHGRASS. An original member of the native tallgrass prairie. Impervious to floods, fire, and drought. Easy to grow from seed. Very hardy, down to -50F. Perennial with a long life span(10+yrs) Likes to form clumps about 1-2' around and will get 5+ feet tall. Not picky about soil, will grow just about anywhere with 6 hrs of sun. Has a grey/blueish hue in the summer and turns copper color in fall, giving some color to the winter landscape.
