SIDE-OATS GRAMA. An original member of the Native Tallgrass Prairie. Impervious to floods, fire, and drought. Easy to grow from seed. Very hardy, down to -50F. Perennial with a long-life span(10+yrs) Likes to form clumps about 1-2' around and will get 3+ feet tall. Not picky about soil, will grow just about anywhere with 6 hrs of sun. Has a grey/blueish hue in the summer and turns copper color in fall, giving some color to the winter landscape. Wildlife is attracted to side oats gamma grass. They're called side oats because the seed pods(oats) only form on one side. They will produce small red flowers in mid-summer. Will spread through rhizomes and self-seeding. If using as a ornamental, cut down to 8" early spring for fresh new growth every year. 1 OZ = 8000+Quality seeds. Thank You!
