A continuous profusion of captivating day-long blooms that have rich velvety red petals with a contrasting golden yellow throat. An excellent choice for infusing border fronts and containers with sensational color. The compact, dense mound of deep green, arching, slender, grass-like foliage may remain evergreen in mild winter climates.

Thrives in organically rich loam; adapts to most soil types, provided they are well-drained. Water deeply, regularly in first growing season to establish root system. Once established, reduce frequency; tolerates mild drought. Remove old foliage and spent blooms for a neat appearance and to promote continued bloom.

Ming Toy Daylily displays dark velvety red blooms with a golden yellow throat / center - blooms begin in late spring / early summer, and re-bloom throughout the rest of the summer season. This variety is an excellent re-bloomer, meaning that it is known to produce several ""waves"" of blooms throughout the summer months, rather then just one
heavy bloom period in early summer.

Good numbers of blooms generally appear all throughout summer, and well into the early fall. Re-blooming can be further increased & encouraged through the removal of old, expired blooms & stalks.

Foliage is evergreen in warmer climates, but will look a little rough during the winter months and will go semi-dormant in colder climates. We actually suggest trimming, or ""mowing"" the foliage back to a height of about 3 or 4 inches at the end of the fall season. This way, the foliage can have a fresh, new start when spring rolls around, and will look its absolute best all season long.
