Male and female sex trees in the pot. They are mixed randomly by the nature of pollination.
Seedlings are split randomly by the Nature 50% males and 50% females. there is no way of telling at this age who is who. Have to wait till they rich their maturity and start to fruit(females) or just pollinate(males). Other way is to graft them with scion cuttings of known sex when they will be about 2-3 years old. This way you will know for sure which plant is which sex for 100%.
For the seedlings the statistics using the binomial distribution are:
Assuming probability of a plant being male (or female) is 50%.
Probability of getting exactly 5 male and 5 female out of 10 plants: .246094 (about 25%)
Probability of getting at least one male and one female out of 10 plants: .998048 (nearly 100%)
